 Visa Requirements:

  • Schengen Application Form: Download and complete the application form accurately, with all fields filled. Remember to sign it in three places.
  • Proof of Payment: Provide a copy of your visa fee payment receipt.
  • Passport/ID: Submit a certified copy of your valid passport or ID, ensuring at least 6 months validity beyond your intended stay.
  • 2 Passport Photos: Include two recent colour ID photos that meet Schengen visa specifications. Write your name on the back of each photo.

Supporting Documents:

  • Travel Insurance: Obtain travel insurance covering the Schengen area for your entire stay and at least €30,000 for medical expenses.
  • Proof of Residence: Provide certified documents (utility bills, bank statements) confirming your South African residence within the past 3 months.
  • Bank Statements: Attach 3 months of personal bank statements demonstrating sufficient funds for your stay.
  • Boat Registration Papers: Include a copy of the vessel’s official registration papers.
  • Employment Contract: Submit a stamped and signed copy of your employment contract with the yacht owner/company.
  • Medical Certificate: Provide a certified copy of your valid SAMSA/ENG1 medical certificate.
  • STCW Certificates (Optional): If you haven’t received your Seaman’s book yet, include certified copies of your STCW certificates.
  • Vessel Itinerary: Attach a detailed itinerary outlining your planned journey and port visits in Italy.
  • Proof of Transport: Provide a confirmed one-way flight ticket to Italy for your initial arrival.
  • Port Letter: This crucial document, signed by the Italian Port Captain with the official port stamp, confirms the vessel’s presence in Italy during your stay.
