Greek Seafarer’s Visa Checklist
- Schengen application form
- copy of photo page in passport (certified)
- 2 recent colour ID photos
- x3 Month’s personal bank statements
- Proof of residence in SA (certified/ affidavit)
- Travel insurance (minimum cover of 30.000 Euro if not covered under the boat contract)
- Proof of transport (flight ticket to Greece)
- Boat registration papers
- Copy of signed and stamped employment contract
- SAMSA/ENG1 Medical (certified copy)
- STCW certificates if no Seaman’s book issued yet. (certified copies)
- The vessel’s itinerary
- Port Letter (official letter signed by the Greek Port Captain with the port stamp confirming where the ship/vessel/ cruise liner is or will be docked in Greece. This document MUST be included. Please note that this letter must come from the Port and not from the MARINA where the vessel is currently docked.)
- Seaman’s Book and a certified copy thereof
- Ship Agent/ company letter.
- Application by the shipping company (A document which indicates the seafarer’s full details including name, surname, Date of birth, passport number and rank/grade.
